SAVE SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY

What are we doing and why?

Sheffield Wednesday Football Club Limited was placed into administration on [xx October 2025] [along with Sheffield 3 Limited which owns Hillsborough Stadium]. The Trust has been asked by the EFL to have ready a plan to save the club from liquidation if a suitable buyer of the club and ground cannot be found via the administration process. We are therefore asking fans of SWFC to make pledges should this situation arise.

At this stage, we are not asking for your money. We are asking for a promise to demonstrate the scale of our community's financial commitment to the Administrator and to ensure that we can make a bid on behalf of fans if required.

We will ONLY activate this fund if one specific thing happens: The Administrator confirms that no other suitable buyer has been found, and the future of SWFC is in immediate danger, requiring the Trust to submit a formal, funded bid.

How can you help?

You can do one simple, powerful thing right now: Make a Pledge at whatever level you can afford.

This is not a full donation today, it’s a pledge of support backed by a down-payment, the size of which will be dependent on the pledge tier that your pledge falls into. Your down-payment helps to confirm each pledge is genuine and stops false submissions from inflating the total.

If the Emergency Fund is never needed, your down-payment will be refunded [in full / net of costs]. Your pledge shows the Administrator and the world that we are ready, willing, and able to protect our club's future.

From Pledge to Ownership: The Next Steps

If the day comes that the Trust needs to step in and buy the club on behalf of supporters, we will contact you to tell you that the rest of your pledge will be charged to your card. If the club is saved by another buyer, you [won’t pay a penny / will only be charged for a small amount to cover the Trust’s costs].

For most supporters this is likely to take the form of withdrawable community shares in the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters' Trust (1867 Supporters Society Limited).

Further details will be provided should this next step become necessary.
